The base game offers a limited form of respec to reassign points, but only for the last three assigned skill points. These either add small bonuses like lowering the mana cost or making the skill cast faster, or they add more impactful effects like more seeking fissures that travel for longer. The active skills grow more potent the more points you dump into them, and there are tier bonuses that unlock at skill level 5, 10, and 15. It's hard to call them 'trees' because as opposed to a system like in Diablo II, you don't need to buy older skills to use the newer ones, just you need to be a certain character level to buy the next level of skill. There are hordes of critters in your way, but all you have is a basic weapon and skill to crush them, but with effort, you'll grow stronger both in terms of skills and arsenal too.Įvery character offers three categories of unique skills which have ten skills in them-seven active and three passive, for a total of 30. After the starting cinematic, you appear in the world with a nearby quest to undertake, starting the story off proper. You're given the choice of difficulties to permanently play under, and then finally the option to play Single Player or online with others. You can pick a male or female which only controls appearance and their voice, and from there, you can name your character, set their appearance, and then pick a pet and customize their name and appearance.
